Is my child ready for First Reconciliation & Eucharist?
- BAPTISM: Baptized in Roman Catholic Rite or other Christian denomination. Certificate required. (If not we can help!)
- AGE: In second grade (age 7-8) or older
- INTEGRATED FAITH LIFE: Family prioritized life with Christ at the center, integrates prayer faith and the liturgical seasons into daily life. Attends Sunday Mass regularly.
- FAITH FORMATION: Has basic faith foundations typically received through active participation in parish formation sessions, specific Home School programs or Catholic School the year prior and the current year of Sacrament preparation. (Registration for SPC Family Faith separate. Click HERE.)
- INTEREST: Is beginning to be inquisitive about his/her faith.
Where do I begin?
- REGISTER: If this sounds like your child, use this registration to select the timing for each Sacrament that best suits your family. We have options to prepare for Reconciliation and Eucharist in both the fall and spring.
- WEL-CONNECT CHAT: Schedule a brief phone call to get to know your family's needs. Book your meeting when you pick the date in fall or spring during registration.
- KICK OFF: We begin the journey with a kick-off workshop to prepare our hearts (and our schedules) for the graces of these important Sacraments.
- FAMILY PREPARATION: You will receive materials to prepare together with your child as a family at home - one for Reconciliation and one for Eucharist.
- COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS: We come together once for each Sacrament to share, practice and experience before we celebrate.
- CELEBRATE: The Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist can be celebrated on specific dates/times with the parish community, or we can assist in scheduling your family individually.
- CONTINUE: Remain connected to the life of Christ by receiving the Sacraments regularly. Help your children to build their relationship with Him through continued active participation in Family Faith and parish life. Confirmation is celebrated as early as 6th grade at SPC.
If you have questions or unique circumstances, please contact Ida Wilbanks to discuss a way forward.
